Pirateland Family Campground-Myrtle Beach, SC

 Pirateland Family Campground-Myrtle Beach, SC

This was our view of the beach and the pier from the campground. Our campsite was literally a few hundred feet from the beach.

This was the sunrise over the Atlantic on our first morning here.  This was one of the most magnificent sunrises we have ever seen.  It looked like the sky was on fire.

Lisa slept through the sunrise on the first morning. She got up early a few mornings to witness the splendor of the first sunrise shown. This was what she saw instead of the vibrant colors- just a typical sunrise.

This is a 1973 AMC Gremlin. During the 1970's, three of Mark's brothers had a Gremlin, so there was often one or two in the driveway of his childhood home.

The 1963 Split rear window Corvette was one of our favorites in the museum.

A 1959 Pontiac Impala was the first car I remember my  Mom having- except hers was black and a two door.  We had it until the mid 1970's.

We went to Vehicles of Yesteryear in Myrtle Beach.  All of these cars are in a private collection. The owner has been collecting and restoring cars most of his life. The family owns over 150 cars and changes them out every January. The employee took us to the storeroom that housed many of the cars not currently in the museum. The Impala was in that storeroom. It was interesting that he took us back there since he did not take any other guests while we were visiting.

We enjoyed our time at Myrtle Beach, but it was very low key. Lisa felt a little puny, so it was good we were able to enjoy some down time.  Most of our time was taken by walking the dog on the beach. We did manage to do a little shopping since there were two outlet malls nearby.
